For this Lent season, we have joined with our friends at Frontline Church in the creation of a 40 day meditational journey. The daily devotionals begin with Ash Wednesday and leads up to Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter. Join us in this season of repentence by taking time each day to reflect on the implications of the cross of Christ. As we repent and turn to Jesus may our hearts be filled with deep joy and comfort in the forgiveness of our sins.

Lent is a season in the Church that is kept to assist the heart in preparing and posturing to remember the Passion of Jesus Christ and the Cross. We will take a purposeful journey to expose our idols, the things we set up higher than God, and find our righteousness only in Christ and His work on the cross. Lent is a forty-day journey, much like Jesus’s walk in the wilderness. During lent, we purposefully allow ourselves to become vulnerable to the power of God over our little gods. The fruits of setting ourselves in this season will produce contrition and repentance—not just simply sorrow, but a humble turning away from the things that keep us from affectionate, open-hearted, scripture-filled love for Jesus. Furthermore, we hope that by joining together for this season, the Church in the City is impacted by experiencing renewal, revival, and restoration to the Glory of Jesus!
