Who I am:
I was born in Falls Church, VA, but my family is from Oklahoma and they moved back here shortly after I was born, so Oklahoma is all I remember. My husband and I have five kids: Steven, Stephanie, Amanda, Emily and Evan. I graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with BA in Missions. When I have spare time, I enjoy cooking, baking and reading.
What I do:
I didn't always want to work with kids. I wanted to do something "important." However, when I found myself running an after school program in a church, I discovered that working with kids was what I was meant to do. At Bridgeway, my job is to welcome kids into a safe, fun place while their parents are off doing their thing. Hopefully, they will also learn a little bit about Jesus too.
What God did:
In my childhood and early teen years, I went to many different churches with my relatives and neighbors. I thought church was a special place and I always wanted to be there because I thought that was where God's presence was. I felt like school and home were dark places, and I didn't feel like God was there. I later learned about the Holy Spirit and how we can take God with us wherever we go. Even in the dark places, God is with us and we are never alone.
