The gospel is offensive
The gospel is an offensive message. It warns us that we are far more sinful than we ever feared. It tells us that we can’t accomplish anything out of our own strength. It fights against our most cherished idols. While we know that the gospel is ultimately a message of good news—that we are more deeply loved by God than we ever imagined—people who aren't Christians don't know that yet. Because we know that we preach an offensive gospel every Sunday, we don’t want Satan to use anything else to raise our guests' defenses.
The Connections Ministry exists to provide gospel-centered hospitality to every guest who walks through the doors of Bridgeway. We're a team of hospitality volunteers with one mission: Make the people who attend Bridgeway will feel more loved and cared for by us than anywhere they go throughout the week. Hospitality is not just being nice to people. It is one of the ways that God designed his church to magnify the gospel. We follow a master who demonstrated his love by serving us and who promises that he will make himself known through the way we love each other.
If you want to find joy in meeting the needs of others, we want you to serve in the Connections Ministry. Opportunities to serve include greeting, ushering, serving in the cafe, helping first-time guests at the Connect Counter, and serving communion.
If you'd like to serve, the first step is to fill out the Connections info form. This lets us get to know you and learn ways we can serve you as you prepare to serve others at Bridgeway.
