Who I am:
I've been married to my high school sweetheart for over 40 years, and we have three grown children and six grandchildren. We have served in a variety of capacities over the years, including Sunday School teachers, Youth Group leaders, and Small Group leaders and pastors. I have worked in several industries and currently, work as an executive with a Revenue Cycle Management company that serves our healthcare clients.
What I do:
Discipleship and pastoral care have been our passions. Seeing people trust Jesus and then grow in their faith has been the focus of lives and ministry since we were teenagers. My wife and I serve as Community Group leaders for LOGOS, a group of believers committed to walking in GOD's word and presence. We believe that as we let the word of Christ dwell in our hearts, our minds are transformed and our spirits learn to perceive and discern the work of the Holy Spirit. Seeing hearts transformed and chains broken is the desire of our hearts, so as the Scripture says, "That they may know that I am the LORD."
What God did:
"I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me." Romans 10:20 (quoting Isaiah 65:1)
This verse describes the supreme rescue moment of my life when Jesus broke into my world and my life was forever changed. Prior to that time, thoughts of God and Jesus were remote and consisted of lifeless knowledge. I had received some religious training but most of what I understood about God related to rules and tradition. Through the testimony and witness of my then best friend (and now my wife), I realized that I was invited to know and relate to God in a personal relationship. God went from a vague deity to the personal GOD, the very specific and knowable creator of all. I continue to marvel that Jesus would love and forgive a young man who did not search for him; a young man who did not even understand his alienation from GOD. Jesus' mercy captured me; since that day my heart has been his. The LORD continues to be found those who seek him, and even by some of those who weren't seeking him.
