We exist to present the gospel to the children of Bridgeway from birth through 6th grade. Each week we facilitate times to study God's Word, grow in prayer and devotion, practice spiritual gifts, engage in worship, and build community. We also help parents teach their children truths of God that lead to a relationship with Jesus and a life of obedience and worship.
Our vision is for this generation of children to know the Word of God as truth, love Jesus with all their hearts, and respond to him in obedience and worship. As followers of Jesus, even children, are called to “go and make disciples…” (Matt 28:18). We live out this vision through Bridgeway’s four core values: worship, discipleship, community, and mission.
What to expect
Children are an essential part of the kingdom of God, and we recognize their crucial function in the body of Christ. All of our children are gifts from God who deserve a safe, positive, and nurturing environment free from fear and prejudice where they can grow spiritually. Our goal is to make Jesus central to everything we do. We want children to experience the love of Jesus and respond through authentic worship and obedience.
Kid Worship is a place for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade to sing, dance, and praise God in a fun environment where God is honored and adored. Worship is our heartfelt response to who God is and what he has done. During Kid Worship, children are introduced to a series of Big Truths. These question-and-answer moments teach truths about God, and become the foundation of our worship for the day. Elementary aged children travel as a class to the Backroom from their classrooms each Sunday morning to participate in Kid Worship, then return to their assigned classroom for pick up after the service ends.
The nursery is a place for children, birth- 2 years old, to be cared for and prayed over each week. Children participate in age-appropriate worship and Bible stories.
Children age 3-6 will hear the big story of Jesus throughout the Bible and learn the Big Truths Catechism. There are special times of age-specific worship.
Early elementary (K-2nd grade) and upper elementary (3rd-4th grade) students walk through a series of topical studies designed to encourage spiritual disciplines and growth as young disciples of Jesus. They are encouraged to memorize Scripture through the Warrior Verse program and learn the Big Truths Catechism during Kid Worship.
This class for 5th and 6th graders acts as a bridge between Bridgeway Kids and the Student Ministry. Using theologically rich, gospel-centered resources, we prepare kids and parents to face the challenges and celebrate the milestones of teenage life.
This special-needs ministry is a place where children, birth-18 years old, are cared for in unique and individualized ways. The Wonderfully Made ministry team includes medical practitioners, special educators, therapists, and other experienced volunteers. Children are exposed to the gospel in developmentally appropriate ways. Typical classroom integration is an option for some. For more information on Wonderfully Made, click here.
Our curriculum is always Christ-centered. We want children to see Jesus through the lives of men and women in the Bible and know that God wants to use all of us to display his greatness and glory. We strive to keep an intentional balance between Word and Spirit in all that we present and do.
The Bridgeway Kids team is a blend of screened volunteers and staff trained to provide the safest and most nurturing environment possible. There is a staff coordinator responsible for each age-specific area. These coordinators train rotating teams of Sunday morning-volunteers to present the gospel, engage kids in prayer times, and lead small groups. These volunteers are passionately committed to the spiritual formation of Bridgeway’s children.
