Bridgeway Kids

Our Mission

We exist to share the gospel with the children of Bridgeway by offering intentional times of studying the Word, prayer, worship and community; and to walk alongside families in the discipleship of their children. We strive to assist and resource families as they give their children a deep knowledge of the truths of God that leads to a true relationship with Jesus and a life of obedience and worship

What You Can Expect

Children are an essential part of the kingdom of God and we recognize their crucial function in the body of Christ. All of our children are gifts from God and deserve a safe, positive, and nurturing environment that is both free from fear and prejudice and where they can grow spiritually. While the local church is a resource to support and encourage children, it’s important to remember that parents are given the primary responsibility to disciple their children.

The Vision

Bridgeway Kids is a place to train, equip, and release children to be disciples of Jesus. We want this generation of children to grow up with a foundation for being worshipers of God for a lifetime. As lovers of God, they can be ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We live out this vision through Bridgeway’s four core values: Worship, Discipleship, Community, and Mission.

                                                               Our Goal

Our goal is that Jesus would be the center of everything we do. We want children to experience and respond to the overwhelming beauty and love of Jesus.

Our Method

Our method is ever-changing. We are more interactive and hands-on than a strictly traditional model. We want children to be involved in the learning process through questions, discovery, evaluating, and applying. We want to show the richness of our loving God through the Bible, music, art, story telling, discussion, drama, prayer, missions, and video.

Our Curriculum

The curriculum we employ is always thoroughly God-centered. We want children to see our great God through the lives of men and women in the Bible and to know that God wants to use all of us to display his greatness and glory.

Our Structure

There is a coordinator over each area who is also a member of the Bridgeway staff. Volunteer team members are screened, trained, and given resources to help them offer the children an experience that is safe and meaningful. These volunteers are passionately committed to the spiritual development of our children.

Kid Worship

Each Sunday morning the children are encouraged to join our kid worship service for “kid-style” celebration. They enjoy singing, dancing, and playing a variety of instruments in a fun and kid-friendly environment, but also one in which God is honored and adored. After checking in at the Kid Connect Counter, children meet in their classrooms. They travel to the Backroom as a class for Kid Worship, then return to their respective classes. It is there that parents can pick them up at the end of the service.

First Steps (Nov 11 | 11am)  & Child Dedication (Nov 18 | 9 or 11am)

Child Dedication at Bridgeway is both a celebration and commitment of a milestone. It is the way we come alongside parents that are beginning the journey in discipling their children. Bridgeway is committed to equip and release families as they set their heart and mind to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. This is open to all parents, and is especially relevant to those at the milestone of having a newborn, new adoptive and foster parents, and new believers with young children.

In preparation for Child Dedications, we will gather the week before for First Steps to encourage you as parents at the beginning of your family discipleship journey. We'll explain the important covenant we're asking you to make as parents, as well as our commitment to come alongside your family.
